Hello and welcome back.
I would like to take this opportunity to say how proud we are of how everyone pulled together during lockdown, taking part in Zoom lessons, quizzes, virtual summer fayres etc. As a Principal without an actual school throughout that difficult time, you all made me feel secure in the knowledge that Tiptoe would return.
On that note, I would like to stress that the return has not been without it's problems and as teachers teaching classes without all our students (illness, self isolating etc), I feel we all are finding things hard at times. I fully understand that going back to school, moving up a year and restarting hobbies all at the same time has hit some of us very hard but I would like to reassure you all that we WILL get through this difficult time and to not make rash decisions at this point.
Thank you to all students and parents for adhering to the new rules and making the get ins and outs and new venues run as smoothly as possible. Your patience and dedication is much appreciated.
DOUBLE UP CLASSES
Thank you for bearing with us at this time over the lack of availability for some double up classes, as explained we must stick to our Bubbles where possible. Due to the limit on numbers allowed at City of Derby Academy we are unable to offer some double up classes at the moment.
We had originally booked Exams for the end of October but with our return to City of Derby Academy being delayed and so many people having to isolate I have made the decision to re-book the session for Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th November.
You will be notified directly if you are involved in this session.
Because of this, any movement of classes will be after this session, ie Melody Bear up to Rosette, Rosette up to Prep. I really want to focus on making sure we have a happy and healthy school before making too many changes.
We break up on Saturday 24th October for Half Term, and return to classes week beginning 2nd November 2020. (If a national lockdown is announced, we will of course be in touch).
We break up for the Christmas Holidays on Saturday 19th December and return to classes week commencing 4th January 2021.
Our annual show was booked for January, which for obvious reasons will no longer be taking place. I have requested a summer date from Derby Theatre, which has yet to be confirmed.
We will be making plans towards filmed presentations in Musical Theatre and if we cannot have the Show date, we will also plan to do something along the same lines.
